Both the residents and the administration are satisfied. Now we have enough capacity to anyone who needs it, and the power is distributed in a smart way, says Henriette Kvam, general manager of the housing cooperative.
About 5 kilometers from the center of Trondheim lies Risvollan, which with its 1113 apartments constitutes Norway’s largest free standing housing cooperative. As several of the residents acquired an electric car, the need to upgrade the charging infrastructure came to light.
The charging infrastructure upgrade started in 2018, and today the housing cooperative has over 800 parking spaces with electric car charging, connected to 80 charging stations in 26 locations around the housing cooperative.
With electric car chargers from ZAPTEC, the residents of Risvollan can utilize optimal capacity while distributing the costs fairly.
