To show that our patent works, the delivery of fish from the globe to the well-boat was key to display, said founder Arne Berge.
Arne Berge is the founder of the company, and the idea of using compressors to fill a closed system with air as a way to transport fish. This allows the water, and the fish, to be emptied withour the use of pumps, Berge explains. The fish gently slides out through the tube within 2-3 hours.
The well-boat “Ronja Tind” arrived with 20.000 smolt from Grieg Seafood’s plant in Trosnavåg. The central part was to show that the preassurized method of transporting fish works, says Berge.
Researchers from Norce and the University of Bergen documented the result. The oxygen level were allways good, and the fish did well, Berge explains. Now the customers are starting to call and want to visit, he says. Read the article from the website of fiskeribladet here (in Norwegian).
