The municipal council of Sokndal municipality has agreed to investigate the Moldalsknuten wind power plant. It is the first municipality south of Finnmark to give the green light after the government last year reopened for new wind power concessions.

The Moldaksnuten wind power plant could have about 7-11 turbines with an installed capacity of up to 50 MW, which corresponds to the power consumption of approximately 10,000 Norwegian households. The investment estimate is EUR 45-55 million.
The Moldaksnuten wind power plant is a project planned adjacent to the existing Tellenes wind power plant. This means that there are turbines and infrastructure on three sides already. In addition, it is located in close proximity to the Titania mines, while a new industrial area for power-intensive industries is also planned nearby.
