Zaptec: launches Go 2 with V2G, Solar Integration and MID-Certification

  • Sector: Infrastructure
  • Date: June 20, 2024

  • Company: Zaptec is world-leading on smart charging systems for electric cars in housing co-operatives, businesses and at home.

Zaptec is launching its latest EV charger: Zaptec Go 2. Designed for the European market, this home charger builds on the legacy of its award-winning predecessor, Zaptec Go. The charger is MID-certified with a built-in display for precise energy measurement and an improved mechanical design that enables higher charging output at higher temperatures without compromising quality.

“The big news is that Zaptec Go 2’s hardware supports AC vehicle-to-grid (V2G), enabling bidirectional charging,” says Knut Braut, CTO at Zaptec. “Compatibility with the upcoming ISO 15118-20 and edition 4 of IEC 61851-1 allows Zaptec Go 2 to communicate with your vehicle and transform your EV into an energy bank,” Braut concludes.

Zaptec Go 2 also comes with extensive hardware upgrades, including support for 1/3-phase switching and solar integration. The unit has built-in 4G LTE communication and native OCPP support for charge point operators from day one.

Zaptec prioritizes quality and safety with Zaptec Go 2, offering an industry-leading installation process that is both simple and secure. Zaptec Go 2 will initially be available in Germany, Switzerland, and the Benelux countries in the fourth quarter of 2024. Rollout in other countries will be announced at a later date.
