«This acquisition brings us closer to realizing robots that can truly connect with people and make a difference where it matters most,» says Christoph Kohstall, CEO at Kind Humanoid.
1X has acquires Kind Humanoid, a Palo Alto-based company behind the humanoid robot Mona. The acquisition brings together two teams that both believe in robots that live and learn among us. This strengthens 1X’s efforts to create safe, intelligent robots for homes and sectors like healthcare.
Kind Humanoid contributes expertise in bio-inspired robotics and advanced AI to 1X’s ecosystem. «It’s rare to find someone who is not just a powerhouse engineer but also completely aligned philosophically and strategically on how humanoids as products should take shape,» said Bernt Bornich, CEO at 1X.
«Joining 1X feels like the perfect next chapter for Kind Humanoid,» said Christoph Kohstall, CEO at Kind Humanoid. «From starting out in a small garage to now becoming part of a team that shares our belief in humanoids living and learning among us, this acquisition brings us closer to realizing robots that can truly connect with people and make a difference where it matters most,» Kohstall concludes.
