Elinor Batteries: and Stella Futura Enter Strategic Partnership for Large-Scale Battery Installations in the Nordics

  • Date: January 7, 2025

Elinor Batteries AS and Stella Futura AB today announced a strategic partnership to strengthen their position in the rapidly growing market for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The goal is to secure 100 MWh of BESS installations by 2025 and achieve a total installed capacity of 5 GWh by 2030. “Our joint efforts will not only accelerate the transition to renewable energy in the Nordics but also contribute to building a strong professional community for consultants and engineers,” states Ulrika Tornerefelt, CEO at Stella Futura.

Stella Futura, an established player in the Swedish BESS market, contributes with expertise in market intelligence, system design, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), and financing solutions for BESS. Elinor Batteries plans to start producing LFP battery cells, known for their safety and longevity, for stationary energy storage in 2028, with a focus on renewable energy and a potential Nordic raw material supply chain. Until their production facility in central Norway becomes operational, Elinor will collaborate with its Chinese partner, Morlus Technology, to ensure deliveries. This partnership ensures a stable supply chain and maintains the highest quality standards.

Together, the two companies will promote local production and development, focusing on sustainability, safety, and traceability in line with EU battery regulations. “By combining our upcoming production capacity with Stella’s system design expertise, we are well-positioned to meet the end-customer’s growing demand for sustainable energy solutions,” says Sofi Hildonen, EVP of Business Development at Elinor Batteries.
