Heaten’s technology will significantly reduce the factory’s natural gas consumption and CO2 emissions, but also the need for cooling towers at the factory, says Jeroen Koot, CEO at Heaten.
BENEO, a leading producer of plant-based ingredients for food, feed, and pharmaceutical industries, will implement Heaten’s high-temperature heat pump at its factory in Wijgmaal, Belgium.
Heaten’s efficient high-temperature heat pump, “HeatBooster,” will use wastewater as a heat source in BENEO’s drying process for rice ingredients. By utilizing wastewater at around 20°C as the heat source to achieve temperatures of around 100°C.
“Heaten’s technology will significantly reduce the factory’s natural gas consumption and CO2 emissions, but also the need for cooling towers at the factory, thus avoiding the need for additional water resources in BENEO’s processes”, says Jeroen Koot, CEO at Heaten.
