We are excited to finalize this agreement, which marks a significant milestone in our growth journey, says Torbjørn Elliot Kirkeby-Garstad, CEO of Norsk Renewables.
Norsk Renewables AS is proud to announce a strategic investment in Great Karoo Phase 1 (Ptw) Ltd., which owns a significant renewable energy project in South Africa. This project encompasses both wind and solar power, each with a capacity of 300 MW, located in the Northern Cape province.
Great Karoo Phase 1 (Ptw) Ltd. is a collaboration between Norsk Renewables, Valinor, and NexGrid, with Valinor holding 43%, NexGrid 40%, and Norsk Renewables 17% of the shares. “We are excited to finalize this agreement, which marks a significant milestone in our growth journey,” says Torbjørn Elliot Kirkeby-Garstad, CEO of Norsk Renewables.
This investment allows Norsk Renewables to expand its portfolio beyond the existing 315 MW solar projects in the northern parts of the country. “With this investment, we not only broaden our renewable energy portfolio but also reinforce our commitment to sustainable development in South Africa,” added Kirkeby-Garstad.
