The most advanced solar power plant of its kind in Pakistan can now supply over 200,000 households with renewable electricity, says Øyvind Vesterdal, CEO of Norsk Solar.
Norsk Solar has built a 50 MWp solar power plant in Pakistan for a total of NOK 400 million together with Harappa Solar from Pakistan and Windforce from Sri Lanka.
The solar power plant (Gharo Solar) was completed in late December and can now supply electricity to 207,000 households.
The solar power plant is the most advanced of its kind in Pakistan with solar modules that receive bifacial modules from two sides. These rotate with the sun (single-axis trackers) and are connected in several rows (string inverters).
