1X: Conducted ‘Open House’ Event for Global Engineering Talents in Moss, Norway

  • Sector: Infrastructure
  • Date: November 24, 2023

  • Company: 1X Technologies’ mission is to create the first mass producible humanoid robot platform that provide services to further the well-being of mankind.

1X recently conducted its first ‘Open House at 1XHQ’ at its headquarters in Moss, an initiative designed to attract skilled engineers from around the world. The event provided insights into how the company is developing androids intended for integration into everyday life and for the benefit of society.

Over two days, the engineers participated in a content-rich program featuring lectures, interactive meetings with the hardware and software teams, and direct interaction with 1X’s androids, EVE and NEO. This gave participants in-depth knowledge of the technology and the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences. A special part of the experience was the training of their own AI models alongside 1X’s android operators. “Our first ‘Open House at 1XHQ’ was a success, where we got to share our vision and work with some of the world’s most talented engineers,” says Win Yu, head of talent acquisition at 1X.

Among several hundred applicants, 25 of the world’s most forward-thinking engineers were invited to visit for meaningful dialogue and exchange of experiences. The participants had a unique opportunity to engage in the development of 1X’s androids and listen to a keynote from Bernt Øivind Børnich, CEO of 1X, about the future of robotics and the philosophy behind embodied learning, which is the driving force in 1X’s AI work. “This event was an extraordinary opportunity to dive into the core of 1X, where innovation meets robotics. We are planning more such events throughout the year,” Yu concludes.
