We are setting a new standard for rapid drone installation of sensors on active power lines, says Øyvind Teigen, CTO at Heimdall Power.
Heimdall Power has launched an enhanced version of its autonomous drone system for sensor installation. Now, it takes only 10 seconds to place a physical Neuron on an active power line, thanks to the efforts of the company’s Drone and Hardware teams. “We are setting a new standard for rapid drone installation of sensors on active power lines,” says Øyvind Teigen, CTO at Heimdall Power.
This new system builds on the success of previous versions but with significant improvements. Heimdall Power has now completed hundreds of successful installations across multiple continents. “By reducing installation time from nearly two minutes to just 10 seconds, we further decrease operational risk and push efficiency to new heights,” Teigen explains.
With the new drone installation, Heimdall Power has not only reduced the time on the power line by 90% but has also improved stability and reliability. “This is a great testament to the continuous development we are doing every day at Heimdall Power,” Teigen concludes.
