The FishGLOBE fish farm has been relocated from Oanes, Lysefjorden to Erfjord. This was a major operation for Ryfish AS, which entrusted ICON Systems with tasks of great importance for the operation.
The globe was lifted out of the sea and placed on a barge for exterior and interior cleaning. The fish farm was then transported by the lifting vessel to Erfjord. Preparations had already been made to receive the globe, so that the fish farm could be installed on the new location with the necessary power connection, oxygen supply, data communication and other necessary facilities. The new insertion of smolts could therefore go according to plan when all the systems were tested and in full operation.
Together with Ryfish and FishGlobe, the operation was carefully planned and successfully executed, says Jarl Endre Pedersen, CEO at ICON Systems. Today, the operation of the Globe is currently supported by service personnel via datalinks to immediately take the necessary measures in the event of undesirable events, Pedersen concludes.
