Norsk Vind: official opening of Egersund wind farm

  • Company: Norsk Vind is Norway's largest private wind power company, that contributes to the electrification of industry, household, and transport.

The Egersund wind farm will be officially opened on May 23 at 1 pm CET. An open event is held for anyone interested in attending at the wind farm at 5 pm CET.

In addition to Norsk Vind and the German owner company Luxcara, the wind turbine supplier Senvion and other local suppliers will be present. Pupils from the local youth school Husabø, who have a strong interest in taking an active role in the green shift, will also participate and share their commitment.

The wind farm consists of 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of 111 MW and a renewable energy production of 390 GWh / year, equivalent to the annual electricity needs of about 20,000 Norwegian households.

The wind farm helps to secure jobs, local deliveries and tax revenues to the host municipality. The project has helped to strengthen jobs for local entrepreneurs and suppliers. The wind farm sells the renewable energy produced to Google. This has contributed to securing tax revenue for decades to the host municipality Egersund.
