We thank the co-founders for their collaboration and wish the companies success in their future phases, says Aanonsen, Investment Director at Valinor.
Valinor, which established ViewPoint Seafood in 2018 alongside co-founders Kåre Olav Krogenes and Kjartan Gilje, has decided to sell its stake in the company to Vega Sjøfarm. This move makes Nova Sea the predominant owner of ViewPoint Seafood, with a significant 47% stake in Vega Sjøfarm, in addition to existing shares in ViewPoint Seafood.
ViewPoint Seafood, which owns three innovative aquaculture companies, has been a part of Valinor’s aquaculture portfolio. These companies have introduced innovative technologies in the aquaculture industry, including ViewPoint Seafarm focusing on developing offshore aquaculture facilities by reusing drilling platforms, ViewPoint Spidercage specializing in aquaculture facilities with wave compensation, and SubC3D developing autonomous systems for underwater operations. “After developing these companies from the concept stage to the construction start of prototype installations, we feel it’s the right time for Valinor to step back,” says Petter Aanonsen, Investment Director at Valinor.
“Further development within offshore aquaculture represents significant risk and requires extensive capital. We believe Valinor can contribute more effectively by focusing on other areas within the aquaculture industry,” explains Aanonsen. “We thank the co-founders for their collaboration and wish the companies success in their future phases,” concludes Aanonsen.
