After an overall assessment, the Directorate of Fisheries has concluded that the project of Viewpoint Spidercage involves significant innovation and is granted four development permits.
The first application of the project was denied by the Directorate of Fisheries, but after an appeal by Nova Sea in November 2018 they reverced their desision and granted the development permits. The directorate of fisheries believed at the time that it was not probable that Viewpoint Spider Cage-Consept be realized, and for that reason could not fulfill the requirement for significant innovation.
Additional documentation were supplemented after the application first was denied, which stated that the concept could be fully realized and that the project could be implemented so that new and improved production technology such as feeding system and fish transport can be developed.
