Zaptec has received MID type approval for their Zaptec Pro chargers. Certificates and large-scale production are now being prepared by the company.
The Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) is a directive by the European Union, which seeks to harmonise many aspects of legal metrology across all member states of the EU. MID certification is a requirement in specific markets and close to a requirement in others. As an example, in Germany alone, Zaptec will go from having 250 competitors down to 70 just by implementing MID in the charging station.

The MID certification is required by tax authorities for approval of tax refunds, so with this certification, tax authorities in the Benelux countries, France, and Germany will accept tax deductions on electricity used for company cars. We believe the certification will be significant for us, as company cars account for 70 percent of all new car sales in Germany, concludes Bardenfleth-Hansen.
