  • Sector: Sea
  • Date: March 3, 2021

  • Company: Waive help fish farmers to look beneath the surface to uncover actual conditions in their fish pens.

Aquabio is a supplier of the sonar SeapiX from IXblue for Norwegian fishing vessels. Last year, Aquabio launched its own product development, based on the same hardware, to create a groundbreaking real-time production- and planning tool adapted for the fish farming industry. Peter Skaugvold is now appointed as Chief Software Architect of the program.

Peter has previously worked with phone- and data programming for almost 20 years and comes from his own company which delivers web solutions and IT systems to customers such as Helse Bergen and the University of Oslo. Peter will now join Aquabio as system architect and will build infrastructure and front-end. The fish farming project has an enormous potential for a positive impact on the fish farming industry, says Peter Skaugvold-Olsen. Participating in building a product that can solve several major challenges, from the beginning, is incredibly exciting, Skaugvold concludes.

We are very happy to welcome our latest addition to the team, says Berit Heltne, CEO at Aquabio. Skaugvold brings with him almost 20 years of experience in project management and development in software and hardware, and will hit the ground running with our farming project, Heltne concludes.
