    • Company: Solgrid is an energy company that develops, finances, builds and operates solar power plants in Nordic markets.

Solgrid is collaborating with Encavis, a leading independent power producer in Europe, to realize the Mörghult solar power plant on the east coast of Sweden.

The solar power plant is located in Västervik in Småland and will, according to the plan, produce around 15 GWh a year after grid connection in the third quarter of 2023. We are very pleased with the collaboration with Encavis, which gives us the opportunity to realize the project, says Kristin Melsnes, CEO at Solgrid. This is another important milestone for adding more renewable energy in an area with a power deficit, concludes Melsnes.

Encavis is also a co-owner of the Varberg Norra solar power plant, which was finalized in April 2022 with a production capacity of 5MW. We are happy about the second successful project in our partnership with Solgrid in Sweden, says Mario Schirru, Chief Investment Officer/Chief Operations Officer i Encavis AG. The Mörghult solar power plant not only brings us closer to our capacity increase in line with our growth strategy, but it also strengthens our presence in Scandinavia, which is one of the most interesting new solar energy markets in Europe, Schirru concludes.
